Finito - Rules of the dice game

Finito opening screen

Objective of the game

The aim of the game is to sort your 12 tokens in ascending order (from 1 to 12).

Two phases

The game is played in two phases.

In the first one, players place their 12 tokens on their board.

In the second phase, they move the tokens from one square to another until the goal is achieved by someone.

Die roll

Every turn, a special die (20 sides) is rolled. The number shown on the die (from 1 to 20) indicates the square(s) on which players must move a token.

In the first phase, players can choose among at most 3 tokens.

In the second phase, they can choose any token.Finito starting position

Occupied squares

If the numbers indicated by the die are all occupied by a token, then players must place a token on one of the closest empty squares with a lower and higher number.

End of the game

When a player successfully arranges his 12 tokens in order (FINITO), he wins the game immediately.

If both players finishes in the same turn, the game is a draw.

Scoring

If a match is played over several games, points are scored for every game.

The number of points scored by the winner depends on the longest series of tokens of his opponent.

If his opponent made a series of 8 tokens, the winner scores 12 (the maximum) minus 8 = 4 points.

Points are then tallied over several games.

In single game matches, scoring is only given for information. In that case, it makes no difference to win 1-0 or 8-0.
