Amazon reminds me  :)  that this widescreen monitor is a 20" (19.5" Viewable) Display.

Connection issues and slow animations are totally different things. The first one depends on the quality of the Internet between you and our server. The second one depends on your browser and machine.
From the user perspective animations are related because while the Connection messages are dropping (over and over), I'm waiting for the card to fly across the screen. So my point there might have been muddied. I have had some instances where the animation itself has become jerky during the flying, but that's not as frequent. However it does mean that if I could stop the animation I would because it would decrease the overall level of disruption experienced during game play.

Regarding quality of the internet, all I can say is that I don't have any problem watching streaming video online. I would think your games aren't heavier than that but it's a guess based on no data. Maybe they are heavier.

Lost Cities definitely is more problematic for me than LevelX though. With LevelX I received a few messages, whereas with Lost Cities some games it's three quarters of the card selections and I resize my browser after many of my clicks to keep the game moving along. I don't know if that really helps, but visually it seems to.

I just selected to play LevelX in training mode and the wide ad space on the right shoved the left side of the game display a bit off the screen. It's not sizing properly.

UPDT: Now that I played part of a game, I see the actual game itself is set exactly on the left edge of the screen without a smidgen of daylight in there. I had to keep my head swiveled to the side while playing, which was uncomfortable, and the display as a whole appeared unbalanced. Very likely to play less if it were to stay this way.

I understand the achievement badges stop at "10", then how come when you win more than 10 in a row, I still get awarded achievements and points for it but it does not show up in the record??  <snip>
Would it be a big deal to add another badge in our record which shows our highest achievement beyond 10?
Where are these badges displayed? When I get a "New achievement!" notification and click on it, I see the badge for that one achievement in the popup window, but I don't find my badges displayed anywhere else and/or in a grouping. Are they shown somewhere?

Click on the green die on the menu. Pick a game, then at the bottom is a button "Achievements

Thank you, I hadn't noticed that. However it doesn't seem to show the badges. On the "New achievement!" notification window we get a badge hanging on a little red or blue bar etc. I had the impression from the posts above that somewhere is a page that includes those badges (or I guess it would be the highest number badge earned for a game).

You're correct though that the Achievements page is the logical place so I guess it's not available.

Happy Meeple community / Site design

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate the clean design of Happy Meeple. The background is easy on the eyes and doesn't distract from the content, both qualities all too rare on the internet. The whole color palette here is soothing. I like the use of round-edged boxes (like game cards!) to section the content and their spacing is comfortable. None of the fonts are hard to read or jarring. Particularly appreciate how The Daily Meeple is implemented, with the small summary box and opening to full page. The website overall has a warm feeling about it. Really well done.

Thank you, I appreciate your reply, however I don't quite understand and hope you can explain a bit further.

There are 5 differently colored discard slots, A B C D E. Right now if I discard to, let's say slot B, I am then able to pick my new card from slots A C D E or the draw pile. I'm asking to be able to pick my new card from slots A B C D E or the draw pile. So, the request is for removal of the feature which locks slot B, rather than adding a new function. I hope this helps. I guess I think of the existing lock as more complexity: an added feature that didn't need to be there (and of course that's easy for me to say, not having done the programming lol).

It's possible that you lock slot B as a safety to prevent errant movement from accidentally repicking the card just placed, I don't know.

Yes I think that's it.  :)  I'm not asking that a person get an extra turn or extra card, just that they be allowed to pick up the card just discarded to complete their turn. Which they would be able to do on an actual tabletop but it seems to be blocked here.

Also it occurs to me... I played as a guest quite a few various games before creating an account. Lost Cities issues existed across 3 browsers and 2 computers and I found/find it unpredictable as to whether it will work just fine or be slow from the start or slow down as I play, even in Training mode. When it occurs I don't seem to be able to 'fix it' with standard things like rebooting, clearing cache, closing other programs, etc. I just have to wait and try again later.

Slowdowns, at least visually, seem to center around the cards flying across the screen.  I don't know how doable this would be programmatically, but if I had the option to turn off the Flying Card animation I would certainly do it. Probably a separate issue from the Connection messages...

Wondering if there is a reason I get so many Connection Issue messages on Lost Cities, and only on Lost Cities... Will take troubleshooting suggestions if there is anything I should be checking.

That would be a more valid test if it never worked in this one. As noted sometimes it does. However when I have time I can certainly try doing a stint in another browser and see if the inconsistency disappears in either direction.

UPDT: I should have added, in my viewing it appears to depend on where the 'partner page' is dropped. Sometimes it is dropped lower under the button, other times atop the button.

Maybe it's just me  ;)  but I've found it easy to misplace a card every so often... so many blinking placeholders. It would be nice if we could retrieve an accidental discard at least as part of the standard 'take a card' at end of turn.

Happy Meeple community / Popup for Get Your Nice Reward

The popup window has a button to push after XX seconds countdown to get your reward. Much of the time the button is almost entirely obscured by the partner page dropped on it.

See example, popup page on top with smidgen of button visible:



(p.s. I tried to use the built-in Attach facility here however the post Preview did not display the image and found no further details in help or wiki. I've used such facilities elsewhere without issue.)(updt. Apparently the post Preview button doesn't display the image on this forum, I discovered.)
