Rankings, meeples and achievements / Re: Draw

Same consequences as well when an animation gets stuck and prevents the game from being completed, even though the code knows there is a stuck animation.

UPDT: After thinking about this for more than that nano-second  ???  the stuck animation is actually worse because I'm the one who has to quit the game, therefore I lose and take the big hit not the small one. But the other consequences are the same.

Great playing, Frédéric!

Have fun with our online board games!

Thank you for making this possible!   :)

I can see the ratings being swapped out of order for this game, but if there's something else yes it's a mystery to me.  :)

Adding another I'd forgotten, when the animation gets stuck. The code already knows it happened re: the send it again message, so that's another situation where it's frustrating to be penalized.

Hello. I thought the bots always unlocked in the same order and without skipping any. Is this normal?

I think the first message - a real game message not a code error - was the one about mixed column and uncovering? I'd seen it once before and had no idea if I should select Yes or should select No but did recall I hadn't liked the result and again wasn't sure what to select. I don't think I clicked Yes or No this time, I think I clicked on the cards again.

The second message was from code, something being undefined, and the third message I'm sorry I don't recall, that was up quickly I think and suddenly the game ended as an Abort.

UPDATE: now I see there are two messages, one is mixing and one is combining, so I can't say which it was. And btw I find them both confusing, and don't know why combining only sometimes appears when combining.

Some number of games later also had a weird rating-dropping event with Migrato... received a message I didn't understand and made a selection trying to continue, then received a code error message (something was 'undefined'), then another message from the game and suddenly it aborted with an 'illegal move' and again my rating was dropped 20 points.

Neither situation seemed like one where I should be penalized for losing a game, especially when I don't understand what's happening or how to fix it.

I do understand there might be reasons for how the coding ends up this way, I'm just reporting and providing feedback.

Am sitting here with Lost Cities frozen - it finally stopped dropping the reconnection/resend messages, the timer isn't advancing, connection light is red (the rest of the internet is working in my other tabs, as is this forum), yet it tells me if I back out I will lose the game and be penalized as has happened before. But I finally do anyway and yes now down 13 more points... was already barely high enough in LC to get the 1400+ bots for the daily quests, which is probably why it bugs me.

If there is any way to code for this it would be nice. I understand why you don't want people feeling free to abandon losing games, however it's a bit frustrating when it can connect to smack down my rating but not to continue the game.   ???

Is the tabletop game sold as only Cards or only Cards + Scoresheets? (A 'no' would mean there are other components such as a board, dice, tokens...)

56
Has the tabletop game been released in a standalone USA/English version?

57
Was the tabletop game released more than 5 years ago?

Tips, polls, updates / Re: Funagain enquiry

1) Do you still see ads for Funagain (the ads that give you 8 food)? Only North-American visitors should see them.
The popup that gives 8 food reward... I don't recall seeing a Funagain ad there yet. Generally I see blogs like Giveaway Geek, Indie Tabletop, maybe Everything Board Games or similar, and I see this forum and twitter display with the Mensa Glastonbury Award at the top.

Tips, polls, updates / Re: POLL - Preferred opponents
« on: 20/05/17, 03:42am »
The 2 minutes per move should be complimented with a "x minutes per match" timer. But it is easier said than done and most importantly there are many more important things on the to-do list. Unless everyone complains about it of course. And that's what I want to find out!
Actually, I would complain if you did add a "x minutes per match" because that's one reason I don't like playing live online.  The two minutes is fairly liberal, so it's nice to have it for when I need it, but my turns are generally much, much faster than that.  I just don't like the pressure of knowing a limit is there.

Which is one reason I prefer bots. I like having more time, and the freedom to get disrupted.  Having the bots is one reason I'll come here. I'm not much fond of playing live blindly online, unless it's a friend.
I know this is old but having the same general opinion... I just had an extremely disappointing verging on humiliating experience playing here with a friend who found the 2 minute limit absolutely intolerable and has made it clear she will not be back to this website. We couldn't even hit the Let's Go button to begin without already having lost the first minute of the first turn and starting the game in the red, it was ridiculous.

Because I'd been playing with bots I'd wrongly assumed it was always 10 minutes and even I found the 2 minutes a deal-breaker for playing with someone I knew. I didn't have a chance to make a passing comment about strategy or look at what we were each doing on the same turn or do anything whatsoever besides stare and click, stare and click. This 2 minute limit is the first thing I've found on the site that is... objectionable, for lack of a better term distressing, that's a better term.

I understand there are some good reasons for it in general play with strangers, but when it comes to persons playing with a link who are inviting an aquaintance, it would seem far more friendly and inviting to allow us to choose a longer period or perhaps no limit at all except the 30 minutes without activity. UPDT: Another possibility is a pause button. I can think of multiple implementation options, some which could minimize abuse more than others.

She feels awful that she hated an activity that I'd selected, I feel awful that I subjected her to something so irrationally pressured. Just a poor experience all around, and now she's permanently crossed this site and the concept of such play off her list of things she'll try because it left her feeling anxious, pressured, and stupid.

These are supposed to be fun, casual, filler games shared for enjoyment. The short, rigid limit and intense red-colored countdown provides the opposite experience for many people (ala read the Big Fish forums and note the high percentage of people who won't play games where they can't shut off the timer).

You know how much I've been enjoying your site and how much I particularly appreciate the design. Please know I don't make this complaint thoughtlessly.

Lost Cities / Re: Lost Cities Scoring question
« on: 17/05/17, 02:27pm »
You're quite kind, thank you. Also probably correct about the bonus. I just saw another one that was on the bonus ( 17 x 3 = 91 ) and oddly again also on the green cards.

UPDT: ah, finally got one not on green cards ( 17 x 2 = 74 )
