It's a lesson many of us have learned the hard way.  :)

I'm glad you found a solution.

Here's a potential solution (customized for Firefox) that can be applied to almost all browsers (you just have to find out how to turn off the hardware acceleration in your browser.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/hardware-acceleration-and-windowblinds-crash

for edge try this

https://winaero.com/disable-hardware-acceleration-in-microsoft-edge/

After having this problem for a couple of weeks now and I think I have found a solution for this (see bottom of post).

It has been driving me crazy. I haven't been able to get Happy Meeple working on Firefox or Edge and as mentioned pereviously I avoid Chrome. I installed Vivaldi all worked OK but was not an ideal workaround as I don't want another browser just for Happy Meeple.

The issues I was experiencing on Firefox (and Edge) were:
1) Clicking on the Market, Castle and Gold icons would open a blank window (which would usually contain the options available in these areas)
2) Some games (especially solo ones like Hex and Raging Bulls) would get stuck on the loading screen with the coloured meeples
3) Freezes post game and unable to scroll up or down on the end game screen (no scroll bar on the right hand side of the window)
4) On the Map I can select to move buildings, but left clicking in an available space does not place them

Solution that worked for me for Firefox:

1. On the left of the box in Firefox where you enter website addresses, there is a shield icon. It was blue on my system to show 'Enhanced Tracking Protection' was on.
2. I clicked on the blue shield and toggled the blue check box to turn off 'Enhanced Tracking Protection'
3. Logged out and restarted browser

Now all is working ok. Can anyone else confirm if this works for them too? It definately does for me (turning Enhanced Tracking Protection back on breaks the site again on my system).

Now if anyone has any ideas for Edge? As Edge is now Blink/Chrome based I would have thought would work ok as Vivaldi & Opera do). I have turned off 'Tracking Prevention' and it doesnt seem to make any difference.

Thanks!

So I wonder if Mocha Y.  was actually playing Mocha Y .   ?  or perhaps there was a legitimate glitch.

Sometimes folks can start to copy names of each other to be "funny".  It's something I don't quite understand.

In any event, I didn't see any "Mocha" listed in the top 100.  If you see it again, please try and get a screen shot of it.  Often the screen shots will need to be reduced in quality before uploading them.

If this was a deliberate effort to cheat and raise one's rank it would be dealt with appropriately.

Still trying to reach Jimmy via various channels.  In this age of pandemic, I am worried other things may have taken precedence.  I will continue to update this post about once a week.

Thanks for the reply Alex B.  Still trying to reach out via Jimmy and get things sorted.  I'll keep this post updated as I learn more.

Alex B. as well as any customer can contact Jimmy directly using the Contact Us form found on the inn website.  It is the pencil icon right above green dice icon that links to the games.

I have reached out to Jimmy via personal chat, but given the summer schedule he may be on vacation.

I can't guarantee a response time to actually address the issue, but please know that I will do all in my power to see this is addressed properly.

Thanks!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention via the forums.  I will bring this up with Jimmy who is in charge of the site.

To be honest, I'm not sure if the ban can be undone.

Typically admins offer a warning before such action is done.

Maximalac - can you comment and tell us how many days that you issued the ban for ?  It's something that we try and explain to our customer's along with explaining why they were banned.

Happy Meeple community / Conventions!!!
« on: 11/12/19, 05:36pm »
So I just returned from PAX unplugged a pretty big convention in Philadelphia in the US.  Did anyone else attend?  Although my con attendance is limited would there be any interest in having an opportunity for Happy Meeple folks catch up in person?

It might be fun to put a name to a game ID?

It looks like it is OK now.

A request that might encourage more player to player games, is be able to pay food on behalf of a friend to play against in a match.

I agree!  Draws shouldn't break a win or losing streak!

My commentary here is a player not an admin.

While I prefer games that minimize luck, I think you have to recognize that the game you are proposing really isn't Finito then.  It's an entirely new game altogether designed by Haplo.  If you want to design that game, go for it!  Try to get backing for it.  Maybe you'll make some money off it.

While I appreciate your frustration ( I would love to add a shotgun to shoot down all the birds in Migrato - maybe I could get my first meeple then), that's not what the designers intended.

I think as a community we need to recognize that games are games for what they are as they are presented - whether that be in the real world or the virtual world.

I don't see why not and I think it would encourage more person to person playing.

Brad M. was blocked after repeated inappropriate comments / spam and individual warning.  When Brad M. had repeated violations he was banned for a longer time. When it happened again, the ban went on longer.

Inappropriate, hostile, and offensive comments will NOT be tolerated on this website.  IF they are allowed back, any further offensives will result in longer bans.
