Reward for Upgrading Houses

Is there any kind of reward for upgrading all of your houses? At some point, there should be special map features that can be unlocked.

Alex B.:
I dunno.  Would the reward be revoked if you won a new house and thus no longer had all your houses fully upgraded?

I would rather have a way to upgrade the "permanent buildings" like the castle.
