Title: HexRoller - Straight bug
Post by: Clive P. on 19/01/21, 01:18pm
The calculation of the straight bonus appears to be buggy. I just finished a training game in which it gave me 8 points for a 3-4-6-6-8-5-7 sequence... hardly a straight. Perhaps it is my misreading of a rule? Does a "straight" just have to begin with a 3 and contain higher numbers after that and if there is, say, a 6 and a 5 and a 4 in some order then that scores 6?

The straight rule wording is difficult to understand and took me a while at first. The order you have the numbers does not matter at all. The highest straight that can be made with your numbers that starts with 3 will be scored.

So for example 7-3-5-5-6-8-4 is a full score.
8-5-4-3-7-3-8 would score up to 5, since you can make 3-4-5 but the 6 is missing.
And so on.

Xyon is correct.

As the tutorial says (I think), for the straights, the numbers don't need to be in order.
